How do I ensure Java is allowed to run on Windows and Apple OS X?
This article applies to the Cisco Active Advisor Web-based scanner only. The Desktop scanner does not have these limitations. Changes were made in 2015 to Google's Chrome browser, and Java is no longer supported by this browser on either Windows or MacOS. Microsoft Edge browser (introduced in Windows 10) also does not support NPAPI plugins, such as Java, and Firefox made a similar change in 2016 as well.
For Windows, we recommend using the last/latest version of Internet Explorer, and on MacOS we recommend using Safari.
